Biology simply means the scientific study of living organisms and the way they interact with the environment. Biology cuts across the structure, function, growth, distribution, and the classification of all living things into groups.

Biology actually studies the characteristics and behaviors of living things; it explains the structure and the way cells function.

- Ecology: This simply explains the study of the relationships between organisms and their environment.

The importance of Biology to Human Beings cannot be overemphasized, because it helps to explain how our organs and systems work and in maintaining good health and treating diseases.

It helps us to discover cures, and vaccines to prevent diseases.

Another important aspect of biology is food and agriculture. Food storage and livestock farming can be found under crop production which teaches us about balanced diets and nutrition.

Environment Conservation is another important aspect in biology which teaches us how to care for our environment, conserve biodiversity, and helps fight climate change and pollution.

Biology covers everything that deals with living organisms - their structures, functions, growth, reproduction and their relationship with the environment.
